2. What is your favorite handmade gift you have received?
Quilts made by my grandmother, a painting from my Dad and special things that my mother has sewn for either myself or my daughter. One year when I was younger, about 4th grade my dad had me go on a scavenger hunt where I had to follow clues along with a map to find real buried treasure! I had to actually dig through the snow and dirt with a shovel and found a wooden box with my initials engraved on it. Inside were little treasures but the most fun of it was the dramatic search and spending some special time with my father. It was a true adventure!
3. What handmade gift have you always wanted to tackle?
I would love to one day make a quilt...or a bookshelf!
4. What was the best Christmas gift you received as a child?
For some reason Nancy Drew books stand out in my mind and how one year I got a microscope. I adored the handmade Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that my grandmother made for me...
5. What items are on your kid’s wish list this year?
Zoey has told us she wants kisses and a sled! =)
6. What is your favorite holiday food?
I love snacking on cranberry cheese and crackers with a glass of red wine, for whatever reason we usually only get cranberry cheese around the holidays and I always look forward to having it.
7. What will you be hand-crafting for the holidays?
I've already made handmade greeting cards, some special mini books, ornaments, crayon rolls, gift tags and am hoping to make up some special cookie/bar jar mixes for gifts as well as some cookie boxes!
8. What is your favorite holiday movie?
It's not really a "holiday" movie but I always enjoy watching the movie You've Got Mail around the holiday's...I also like watching Bridget Jones's Diary. A more traditional choice would be A Christmas Story or The Miracle on 34th Street. My daughter's favorite is The Star of Christmas from the Veggie Tales!
9. Favorite holiday song?
Silent Night
10. Favorite holiday pastime?
Sledding, playing in the snow...baking cookies and spending time with family for sure!
